Following numerous reports of child defilement and exploitation that was said to be happening to the kids near Chuka Mosque, Enlightened Generation International in conjunction with local authorities paid a visit to the area and had discussions with the Muslim Community on the importance of child protection and how to protect vulnerable children from exploitation, especially on the wake of the Holy month of Ramadhan.
As a community-based organization, we strive to ensure that all areas in our county of operation are safe for children and educate members of the community on how to keep their community free from harmful practices. Our Executive Director Kelly Rwigi HSC visited the mosque on the 14th of April 2022 and had the opportunity to talk to children about abuse and how to report it.

Enlightened Generation International continues to be at the very forefront of championing the rights of children and ensuring that all children have space for growth and opportunity, free from abuse, exploitation, and trauma. Young girls were trained on menstrual health and all equipped with sanitary pads to ensure their dignity is safeguarded.
