OUR TEEN MOM
Carol (not her real name) is a 14-year-old girl in Form 1 who was defiled and impregnated by her immediate neighbor. She lives with her 80-year-old grandmother in Igoji, Meru county. We took care of Carol throughout her pregnancy and ensured that she got the appropriate healthcare and safe delivery and she is now back home with her grandmother. We hope that she will make a quick recovery and go back to school to continue with her studies. We welcome well-wishers to assist us in taking Carol through her high school education as she raises her baby.

Mosque Visit
Enlightened Generation International in conjunction with local authorities paid a visit to the area and had discussions with the Muslim Community on the importance of child protection and how to protect vulnerable children from exploitation. Young girls were trained on menstrual health and all equipped with sanitary pads to ensure their dignity is safeguarded.
Makena's Homecoming
Makena was freed after 6 months and arrived home safely from Mwingi. On the 6th of April 2022, our Executive Director Kelly Karimi Rwigi, HSC was at the forefront and other partners in her homecoming at Lowlands Hotel. Makena remains to be part of the EGI family as we strive to ensure other young women are empowered and protected from any form of harm, abuse, and exploitation.
